FAQ
You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.
We’ve created this handy mountain bike FAQ page to answer our most common questions!
Are E-Bikes allowed at Lee Canyon?
No, we operate on USFS land, and through their policy NO E-Bikes are allowed on their singletrack trails. This does unfortunately include disconnected e-bikes as well. One thing to note is that there will be no uphill travel trails. We understand the popularity and demand of e-bikes.
Are we allowed to ride a hardtail instead of a full-suspension bike?
We strongly recommend that guests have the appropriate gear for a downhill mountain bike course, like freeride/downhill full-suspension bikes. The only requirement we have is that you wear a helmet. We do have rental bikes available for single-day use. We would recommend that you rent one of these bikes on your first day & assess whether your gear is appropriate for the trails.
Are my children old enough to ride in the bike park?
Children aged 8 and below must be accompanied by an adult while riding. We encourage families to participate in this sport to foster a love for cycling across all age groups. Most children who can ride a 20″ bike with confidence will be ready to ride our trails. Riders must be able to ride a bike comfortably and operate the hand brake properly.
Can my child ride with me on my bike?
Lee Cayon has a one-bike, one-person policy. No tandem bikes, trailers, or frame-mounted bike seats are allowed on the trails.
Can I get a refund?
Within 48 hours of the pass, rental, or lesson purchase, you are eligible for a 100% refund paid to the payment device used to purchase your lift pass, rental, or lesson. Passes, rentals, and lessons are not refundable or transferable on the date valid. You can manage your purchases through your store account. Please login here.
What is your policy about inclement weather or weather delays?
Please note that the Resort cannot guarantee the availability of parking, the condition of roads, weather conditions, trail conditions, the number of lifts operating, or facilities and services. It’s important to keep in mind that inclement weather can impact daily operations, leading to delays and closures at any time. Please note that refunds and credits will not be provided for passes, rentals, or lessons due to inclement weather or other unexpected interruptions to daily operations.
Are cyclists allowed to ride off-trail or pedal up the trail (uphill travel)?
Sorry, but all riders are required to stay on the designated trails as per USFS regulations. Those who venture off the trails will be removed from the resort. Additionally, uphill travel is not permitted to ensure the safety of the riders and to conserve the grounds.
What safety gear is required?
During the summer season, all mountain bike guests must wear a helmet and are strongly encouraged to have the necessary equipment and protective gear. We strongly recommend using full-face helmets and wearing elbow and knee protection, gloves, and shoulder pads. If necessary, you can purchase these products at Lee Canyon Sports!
I am just getting started, is there a DH trail for me?
We currently offer three trails: an easier GREEN trail, a more difficult BLUE trail, and the most challenging BLACK trail. Riders must maintain control and ride within their ability. Downhill mountain biking is a highly technical sport, and staying in control is crucial to guarantee your safety and the safety of others. We recommend exploring our Experience Downhill Package, which includes all the necessary equipment, a top-notch guide, and access to our trails.
Do you have rental bikes?
This year we have a full rental fleet. We currently only offer adult-size rentals. We also have our retail shop equipped with the latest helmets, pads, and bike repair tools. See our rental options here.
How long is your mountain bike season?
We kept the park open until October in our first year of operation. We remain optimistic that we can continue operating well into the fall season, as long as favorable weather conditions persist.
I can’t find my pass! Can I get another?
If Lee Canyon is your home mountain and you bought your pass through us, our pass office can print a new pass for you (fees may apply)! If you are visiting Lee Canyon, we can provide you with a temporary QR code to use during your visit. Please go to the pass office to obtain your code.
Do you have a kids bike program?
Currently, we do not have a kid-specific bike program. But we do have an Experience Downhill Package that may be appropriate for some kids.
